AVON PROTECTION COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER MANUFACTURERS SYSTEMS

Q: A customer enquired - I am currently using the 3M™ Reusable Full Face Mask Respirator FF-300 Series | 3M Australia and 3M™ DIN Threaded Gas/Vapour Cartridge and Particulate Filter CF32 A2B2E2K2HgP3 R D DT-4046E, 10 ea./Case | 3M Australia and was wondering if they are compatible with the Avon Protection Multi Position-Powered Air Purifying Respirator (MP-PAPR) system? 

A: The MP-PAPR system is only certified for use with Avon Protection CBRNCF50e and CTCF50e filter canisters which have the breakaway Threaded Connector Piece (TCP) allowing the filters when screwed onto the flexible PAPR module giving the correct profile. Any other filters would stand proud of the module offering a significant increase in profile. Unsure whether the Scott hose - mask connection would fit to the PAPR blower motor and whether sealing gasket performance would degrade.
Any compliance offered to both systems (Scott & Avon) would be negated.
