NH15 ESCAPE HOOD

Q:  Are users required to be clean-shaven when donning the NH15 escape hood, or whether facial hair (beard, stubble, moustache) does not affect the protective performance of the device?

A:  As long as any facial hair does not affect the rubber neck seal, the unit will protect the user for 15 minutes for escape purposes.

It is unlikely that the requirements for inward leakage of the system will be met if beards or personal clothing prevent an appropriate neck seal. Long hair should always be secured before attempting to don the device.
