Q:  Does Avon Protection use diphenylguanidine (DPG) in its mask materials?

Question:
Are Avon Protection masks safe for individuals with an allergy to diphenylguanidine (DPG)?

A:  Avon Protection mask facepieces and sealing components are manufactured using high‑performance elastomeric materials such as butyl and chlorobutyl rubber blends. These materials are selected for their chemical resistance, durability, and comfort.

Diphenylguanidine (DPG) is not intentionally used as a curing agent or accelerator in the rubber compounds for Avon Protection mask facepieces, valves, or seals.

However, Avon Protection does not publish complete rubber formulations, and as with most industrial rubber products, trace substances cannot be entirely ruled out. Individuals with known or severe chemical allergies should consult a qualified medical professional prior to use.
