LATEX IN NH15

Q:  Is the Avon Protection NH15 escape hood latex free?

A:  We have reviewed the technical documentation for the NH15. The materials listed for components that may contact the wearer include chlorinated polyisoprene (neck dam), polyisoprene (inlet and exhalation valves), and silicone (nose cup). The technical file does not identify any component as containing natural rubber latex.
In addition, Avon's Declaration of Materials Conformity states:
The materials of the NH15 CBRN Emergency Escape Hood that may come into contact with the wearers' skin are not known to be likely to cause irritation or any adverse effect to health.
Please note that the technical file does not contain an explicit "latex-free" declaration. However, based on the materials identified within the technical file documentation, we have found no indication that the NH15 contains natural rubber latex.
