MITR-PG1, USE IN BREACHING OPERATIONS

Q:  Can I use the Avon Protection MITR-PG1 powered goggle for breaching operations?

A: Breaching operations present a combination of hazards, including airborne contaminants, heat, sparks, and hot debris. The MITR PG1 provides protection against particulates generated during breaching activities, including those that may enter the eye space. However, the goggle is not intended to provide firefighting or flame protection. As with other equipment and clothing worn by the user, care should be taken when operating in environments where exposure to sparks, hot fragments, or open flame is possible, as certain plastics and fabrics may be susceptible to heat damage or ignition. Appropriate risk assessments, training, and operational procedures should always be followed when conducting breaching activities.
